It just amazes me how horrible kids can be to each other (and I suppose adults too!). I too lost my daughter although not in the same way. I found out 2 days before I was induced that she would die after birth within a day or so. If you every need anyone to talk to, I'd be more than willing to listen. I know that it never goes away. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Re: Student essay - "Now I Remember"

Wow. Wow, PHD, that's fantastic. Yeah, I am not a great test taker, I barely made it past the GRE and in my interview to get into grad school (University of Iowa) the professor asked me, "So, what happened with the GREs?" right off the bat. LOL.

I had great grades, just horrible test scores, so they saw it wasn't an indicator. . . So, you know what...do not worry, it'll work out. You'll do great on the GRE!! I'll add this to my prayer list, okay?

Re: All about ME...But I'd like YOUR advice

Thanks, Kathleen. I need to start reading it again :)

Loved, the humor in New Moon too. Jake still can't act, but he sure looks nice. The third one comes out in June I hear. Can't wait.

I've been watching all that Harlequin stuff. Crazy times out there. Isn't Roald Dahl considered middle grade, for example? And Beverly Cleary? I'm sure you've read at least one of their books, right? Back when you were a kid?

I loved New Moon too. I think the thing that made it such a fun movie was the humor. It didn't take itself as seriously as the first Twilight movie. They also picked some of the most key scenes from the book to include in the script.

How is the publishing life treating you? Any news?

Re: Swift, SNL, Book Reviews (and one more week till "New Moon"!)

Aw, thanks Michelle! The way the boy's legs aren't showing the kind of enthusiasm that the girl's legs are, leaves me wondering if this female protagonist isn't asking for trouble.

Maybe I'm delving too deeply to find hidden info in the cover art, but I teach reading, and one of the skills I try to teach my students is cover-art-analysis. It can help us decide whether or not we want to buy a novel, you know what I'm saying?
